Sharjah24: Sharjah Sports Channel (SSC), part of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, has introduced a new weekly program titled “Play It Right.” This initiative is inspired by the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The initiative seeks to enhance sports media products while educate the audience about different individual and team sports. The program is scheduled to air every Friday at 2 PM, featured in the channel's lineup for 2024-2025.
The program serves as an extensive sports reference, offering in-depth descriptions of the rules and regulations governing a variety of sports, including those featured in the Olympics. As the first of its kind, the program draws inspiration from the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, ensuring it meets the needs of its audience by providing detailed knowledge about Olympic sports rules. The event reflects Sharjah's increasing significance in organising both competitive and community sports activities throughout the emirate and its various regions.
The title of the program describes its primary objective: to foster essential understanding of sports among young individuals and aspiring athletes. The focus is on the significance of grasping regulations, overseeing formal competitions, and promoting skill enhancement within sports clubs and teams.
The episodes include insights from professional coaches, expert trainers, and international referees, who clarify legal and arbitration aspects of sports to assist players in avoiding errors and improving their technical and tactical abilities. The initiative is designed to equip young athletes with essential knowledge for their future in sports.
Commenting on this, Mohammed Majid Al Suwaidi, Director of Sharjah Sports Channel, highlighted that the show is in accordance with the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, aiming to establish a clear direction for the channel’s content. He emphasised that “Play It Right” functions as a thorough educational resource, promoting knowledge among young people and athletes, all while aligning with the channel’s goal of delivering precise and valuable sports information.
Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of enhancing sports content extends beyond simply broadcasting live events. He has further highlighted the importance of developing educational programs aimed at building a generation educated in the fundamentals of various sports. These initiatives enable athletes and fans to gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics of different games while staying updated on changes in rules and regulations.
