Sharjah 24 – AFP: The UN has reported that 281 aid workers have been killed globally in 2024, marking the deadliest year for humanitarians. This tragic milestone surpasses the previous record of 280 deaths in 2023.
The violence, particularly in conflict zones like Gaza, has resulted in the deaths of many humanitarian workers, with over 300 fatalities in Gaza alone.
The UN has called for stronger protection for aid workers and accountability for those responsible for the violence, emphasising that the ongoing attacks on humanitarians threaten aid operations worldwide.
