UAE highlights peace and security as keys to global stability

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), emphasized the importance of promoting international peace and security as essential foundations for global stability and sustainable development. His remarks aligned with the principles of the United Nations Charter.

UAE participation in high-level UN meeting

Dr Al Nuaimi made the statement during his participation in a high-level meeting focused on upholding the UN Charter and international law to safeguard peace and security. He was joined by a delegation from the UAE Parliamentary Division.

Organised by PUIC on sidelines of Parliamentary Conference

The meeting was organised by the General Secretariat of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) and took place on the sidelines of the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 29th to 31st July 2025.

Supporting multilateralism and peaceful conflict resolution

The event aimed to reinforce the importance of multilateral institutions and diplomacy in resolving global conflicts peacefully. It also highlighted the role of parliaments in upholding the UN Charter’s principles to preserve global peace and stability.
