Sharjah 24: The Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2024) continues to serve as a vital cultural platform, with writers and authors highlighting its significant role in nurturing literary talent and advancing the future of writing. This year, the Signature Corner saw the launch of 450 new books, covering a wide range of genres and languages, including works in Arabic and English for children, adults, and people with disabilities.
Encouraging the acquisition of new books
Rowan Marai, the organiser of the Signature Corner, emphasised that the fair showcased a diverse selection of books aimed at different age groups. She encouraged writers to continue developing and releasing new works, while also urging the public to visit the fair and expand their collections.

From talent to writing experience
Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Naboodah, an academic and writer, explained that the SIBF is an ideal platform for budding writers to transition from talent to experience. He encouraged aspiring authors to participate in the fair, even with simple contributions, as it could help them find their path and establish themselves as distinguished writers.

A tool for connecting with readers
Zafer Jaloud, a media professional, writer, and author, highlighted the fair's role as a bridge between authors and readers. He noted that the SIBF allows authors to introduce their work to a wider audience, emphasising the importance of such interactions in building respect for both the writer and their work.

Motivation to keep writing
Dr. Salem Makhlouf Al Naqbi, a housing studies expert and writer, expressed his joy at publishing his second book at the fair. He described SIBF as an inspiring space for writers to explore their creativity and continue producing new works, viewing the fair as a significant motivator to keep writing, researching, and publishing.
