Sharjah24: His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council, highlighted the crucial role of the Council as an essential channel of communication between the government and the community. He emphasized the Council’s commitment to understanding the needs of citizens, addressing their concerns, and engaging with them effectively.
This statement was made during a meeting of the Council's Office at its headquarters in Sharjah City, which took place as part of the second regular session of the eleventh legislative term. The agenda focused on several topics aimed at enhancing community welfare and addressing its needs.
Dr. Al Nuaimi expressed his gratitude to the government departments and agencies in Sharjah for their ongoing collaboration with the Consultative Council and their responsiveness to the 25 proposals put forth by the Council, as well as their engagement with public complaints.
He commended these departments for recognizing the significance of partnering with the Consultative Council, which plays a key role in creating a cohesive system that benefits the emirate and aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, towards building a prosperous society.
The meeting was attended by Halima Humaid Al Owais, the Vice-President of the Council, along with several heads of specialized committees, including Mohammed Ali Jaber Al Hammadi, Head of the Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions, and Complaints Committee; Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, Head of the Education, Youth, Culture and Media Affairs Committee; Rashid Abdullah bin Huwaiden, Head of the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee; Jassim Mohammed Al Hanawi Al Naqbi, Head of the Committee for Preparing the Draft Recommendations; Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri, Member of the SCC; and Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of the SCC and Rapporteur of the Bureau.
Also present were Youssef Hassan Al Ali, the Legal Advisor, and Abdulaziz bin Khadem, Deputy Director of the Parliamentary Affairs Department from the General Secretariat of the Council.
During the meeting, parliamentary questions from Council members were reviewed, covering the policies of various government departments and inquiries regarding services provided to the community, alongside proposals submitted by both members and the public.
The attendees also discussed the general topics that will be addressed during the current regular session, within the framework of the relentless efforts to achieve the interests of the community and develop the services provided.
