Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police, SP, participated in the fifth World Congress on Addiction Medicine, Behavioural Health, and Psychiatry held in Baltimore, USA, from October 21 to 23. The event featured numerous international experts in addiction, psychotherapy, and rehabilitation, fostering rich discussions on the latest developments in the field.
First Lieutenant Pharmacist Sarah Al Zarouni, a Future Foresight Expert with Sharjah Police, presented a paper titled "The Future of Drugs and Rehabilitation Centres." She discussed recent research from foresight laboratories, exploring anticipated changes in drug use and innovative treatment methods for addiction. Her presentation emphasised the crucial role of rehabilitation centres in providing psychological support and adapting to future challenges.
The conference also facilitated discussions on key issues and effective solutions for enhancing drug control and rehabilitation efforts. Al Zarouni's insights, particularly on leveraging technology and innovation in treatment, resonated strongly with attendees.
This participation aligns with Sharjah Police's commitment to combating drug abuse and improving community well-being through their Future Foresight Laboratory project, which aims to develop proactive strategies for police work and societal health.
