The aid collection activities were also graced by the presence and active participation of various dignitaries including the sons of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Member of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council, as well as Omar Mohammed Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications. Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent and Member of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council, Abdul Hamid Mohammed Saeed, Chairman of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Authority, Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, and several other distinguished personalities were also in attendance.
The campaign underscored the significant values of community solidarity and institutional integration that persisted throughout its duration. This demonstrated the genuine nature of Emirati society, encompassing its diverse facets, constituents, and demographics. The campaign exemplified the lofty principles of unity, solidarity, collaboration, and support in standing alongside the Lebanese community during challenging circumstances.
In the UAE's 'UAE Stands With Lebanon' campaign, the principles of human brotherhood and noble values were manifested in providing aid and support to those affected. This reflects the foundation laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, emphasizing the importance of extending assistance to people in all circumstances and times.
The campaign has gathered 1,100 tons of in-kind donations for relief aid by the end of the allocated time period. The initiative was launched on Tuesday, October 8, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and has been overseen by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, as well as Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development Affairs and Martyrs’ Families, Chairman of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council.
Since the beginning of this campaign, the UAE has dispatched 13 planes carrying relief aid to our Lebanese counterparts. These flights have transported up to 560 tons of crucial medical supplies, various food packages, and essential shelter provisions, as well as the necessary supplies for children and women in response to the current emergency situation and its significant challenges.
