Sharjah 24 – WAM: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker for the Federal National Council, held a phone conversation with Nabih Berri, Speaker for the Lebanese Parliament, during which he reaffirmed the UAE’s support for Lebanon and its people, emphasising that the UAE will spare no effort in meeting the urgent needs of the Lebanese people.
The UAE top parliamentarian noted that the UAE’s support for the Lebanese people is in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE has launched the 'UAE stands with Lebanon' relief campaign to support Lebanon and its people in light of the recent events.
He further stated that the UAE remains steadfast in its support for the brotherly people of Lebanon, reflecting the deep fraternal ties between the two nations, especially during these critical times. This initiative, he said, embodies the UAE's humanitarian vision and its long-standing principles of solidarity and support during crises by providing all possible humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering and meet urgent needs of the Lebanese people.
He reaffirmed the UAE’s unwavering stance in supporting the Lebanese people as they face these challenges, and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to Lebanon’s unity, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
For his part, the Speaker for the Lebanese Parliament expressed his gratitude to the UAE's leadership, government, parliament, and people, emphasising the necessity of working towards a political solution, with a ceasefire as a top priority.
