Sharjah and Dubai Camel Racing Clubs Unite to Elevate the Sport

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Camel Racing Club and the Dubai Camel Racing Club discussed ways of mutual cooperation, developing camel racing sport, and enhancing it by utilising various resources and implementing programmes between the two sides to achieve their shared goals and benefit from each other’s expertise.
This came during a joint meeting at the Dubai Camel Racing Club headquarters, attended by H.E. Abdullah Mohammed Muadhd bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, H.E. Ali Bin Surood, Executive Director of the Dubai Camel Racing Club, Mohammed Obaid bin Hamed Al Tunaiji, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, Khalid Matar Al Tunaiji and Ali Mohammed bin Rashid Al Ketbi, Board Members of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, and Saif Rashid Khalfan Balameri Al Ketbi, Head of the Race Organisation Section at the Camel Racing Club.

The meeting revolved around future plans to develop the sport of camel racing. Several requirements and proposals were presented, and the operational and technical aspects of both clubs were discussed to ensure success in their work and plans.

H.E. Abdullah Mohammed Muadhed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi emphasised the importance of aligning efforts with the strategies of both clubs aimed at promoting camel racing and preserving its cultural heritage. He praised the efforts of the Dubai Camel Racing Club in advancing the sport within the UAE, encouraging more participation, and organising successful festivals and events. He also pointed out the significant progress made in the Al Marmoom Camel Racing Field in recent years.

Ali Saeed bin Surood confirmed the Dubai Camel Racing Club’s commitment to collaborating with the Sharjah Camel Racing Club to contribute to the success of various races, events, and championships. This is in line with Sharjah Camel Racing Club's plans to enhance communication and strengthen relationships with various entities and institutions.

Bin Surood expressed his gratitude to the Sharjah Camel Racing Club delegation for the productive meeting, which positively contributed to the development of camel racing. He emphasised the mutual dedication to building bridges of cooperation with all camel racing clubs and tracks across the UAE and highlighted the importance of the UAE as a key player in elevating the sport of camel racing.
