Sharjah24: His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) , received a delegation from the General Authority of Sports (GAS) during their visit to the council's secretariat.
The visit was marked by an overview of best practices in implementing a knowledge management system in accordance with the ISO 30401:2018 standard, making SCC the first parliamentary entity in the world to obtain this certification.

At the beginning of the visit, His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al-Jarwan welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed his full readiness to cooperate and exchange experiences with the General Authority of Sports. He highlighted the importance of this visit in enabling the authority's staff to closely learn about the secretariat's experience in achieving the knowledge management standard.

Following the welcome, the delegation undertook a comprehensive introductory tour on how to implement the ISO 30401:2018 standard, presented through a detailed explanation by Thabia Al-Amri, Deputy Director of the Strategic Planning and Institutional Development Department.

Al-Amri reviewed the related guidelines and explanations regarding the standard and clarified the requirements and roles of the secretariat in successfully meeting these requirements.

It is noteworthy that the SCC received this certification in 2021, becoming the first parliament in the world to achieve this accolade. The council has confirmed its leadership in applying the highest global standards, continuing to renew this certification annually. These achievements reflect the council's commitment to promoting a culture of innovation, creativity, and quality in parliamentary services and operations.

The standard contributes to improving the knowledge management system by establishing, reviewing, and enhancing all related processes, thereby boosting management effectiveness and efficiency and supporting the achievement of strategic goals and sustainable growth. Additionally, the standard fosters trust among members and staff through a systematic approach to knowledge management.

The visit concluded with both sides affirming the importance of ongoing collaboration and knowledge exchange, contributing to enhancing performance levels and developing the skills of human resources across various institutions.
