Speaking to "Sharjah 24," Al Zahid explained that the competition will run until September 13 at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai. He emphasised that the initial tests reflected the strong preparation and enthusiasm of the participating countries. The competition includes a variety of questions from the Holy Quran, broadcast live on multiple platforms and satellite channels.
On the first day, 11 contestants performed before the judging panel. In the morning session, five participants competed: Khadija Abdul Karim from Central Africa, Vio Thiri from Myanmar, Zainab Abdul Rahman from Ghana, Asia Mahmoud from Somalia, and Camilo Hedaya Kora from Togo. The evening session saw six contestants: Asma Doukouri from Mali, Umm Salim Adam from Chad, Khawla Sissao from Burkina Faso, Fahima Abdullah from the Philippines, Sarah Youssef from Eritrea, and Madina Nyumutoni from Rwanda. All contestants recited from memory according to the Hafs narration of Asim.
