Sharjah24: Sharjah is now constructing new high-level sports institutions for women, according to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
His Highness stated, "The sports city, whose designs and location were approved today, will offer more comfort and enjoyment to both players and spectators with its vast space and air-conditioned environment."
He also urged young people to join in sports club activities, pointing out that Sharjah's clubs are reputable and ethical, assuring the youth's well-being by engaging them in constructive activities. His Highness advised club administrations to entice fans while ensuring crowd control during matches.
In a phone conversation on Sharjah Radio and Television's "Direct Line" programme, Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, stated, "We are developing sports and clubs in the Emirate of Sharjah." We are now preparing new high-level sports facilities for our women and girls, which you will hear about shortly because they are already under construction. As for our young generations, we hope the clubs will keep them occupied with their activities. We are committed to supporting and expanding the Emirate's clubs, and we are now building a sports city that will span a wide area and provide everything the youngsters require."
When asked about the sports city, His Highness replied: "This project and its wonderful design are not just for appearance; the grandstands are equipped with uncovered air conditioning, cooling pipes under the seats, and fans that push cold air onto the field." We adopt this design to ensure the public's safety and comfort, considering the possible dangers involved with a huge, covered facility holding thousands of people. Therefore, we picked this design to keep the environment cool while also ensuring the safety of people there. " God willing, this project will protect players from having to play in hot weather."
His Highness went on to say, "We have a huge number of clubs, and when we analyse our clubs and current work, we see that we attempted to create contemporary grandstands in Dibba Al-Hisn Club but were hampered by its position. So, we relocated this enormous stand to Al-Hisn Island and redesigned the club from within. The stadiums, facilities, and parking lots are currently under construction. We are currently training in the existing stadium. We will relocate Khor Fakkan to Jabal Al-Uwain, a location that offers stunning views, fresh air, cooler temperatures, and reduced humidity. We will transform the current club area in the city centre into a development zone for our future residences.
His Highness said, "As for the Kalba Club, we want to launch it before the end of the year, God willing. The plan for the Al Dhaid Club's transfer from Khor Fakkan Road to the city entrance is complete. The Mleiha and Al Madam clubs are stable and have not made any demands. Al-Bataeh Club requested an expansion, which we would accommodate. Sharjah Club is overcrowded, so we decided to relocate the electrical storage facility, which takes up half of the club's space, to the industrial zones. We intend to build a cricket club in the sports city and extend the current cricket pitch at Sharjah Club, thus doubling its size.
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi urged the Emirate's young to attend and engage in club events, adding, "We want the youth to be active in the club, to take care of their physical health, and not to waste their time on unproductive activities." We want to attract young people to clubs, and we advise club administrators to do so only by adhering to ethical norms. They should not accept anyone who exhibits inappropriate behaviour or language. We hope that our clubs' supporters will be respectful and kind. Our clubs are respectful, and only respectful conduct is tolerated. Players stops the matches in Sharjah when hearing the call to prayer. Let everyone know that all of our sports-related spending and development in Sharjah is subject to monitoring, oversight, and accountability.
