Shams participates in IGCF as a strategic partner with the aim of enriching the international event by presenting the city's visions and expertise in enhancing the role of government communication in Sharjah, the Emirates and the region, qualifying media professionals with the latest visions and experiences, and activating the role of creative industries in the national economy.
Rashid Abdullah Al Obaid, Director of Sharjah Media City (Shams), stressed that Shams’ participation comes within the framework of the continuous support for IGCF, believing in the importance of institutional cooperation and exchange of expertise between the various participating countries and enhancing strategic cooperation with partners to achieve the goals of the forum this year under the slogan “Flexible Governments... Innovative Communication”, and supporting the media system in the emirate and its continued development and presentation of the leading media image.
He stressed that Shams is pleased with its extended strategic partnership with IGCF, reflected in many key events to enhance Shams presence in this major media forum and contribute to its success by presenting its expertise and vision in the future of creative industries, of which the media is the main driver, in addition to highlighting Shams’ capabilities to develop a media sector led by modern technology.
Al Obaid underlines that Shams' participation will significantly highlight its role in the UAE media industry. The forum will review the role of the media sector in general and the specific role of Shams in supporting youth to contribute to the development and growth of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE.
"Shams" participation also includes reviewing the pioneering initiatives and projects that the city is working on to devote its successful experiences that enhance the country's position on the map of media creativity and form a comprehensive global vision in government communication.
Sharjah Media City "Shams" is participating in IGCF through a platform that includes several activities over the two days of the forum, which provides an opportunity to meet media professionals with the aim of strengthening the partnership with Sharjah Media City "Shams".
The participation also includes reviewing the pioneering initiatives and projects that the city is working on to devote its successful experiences. During the forum, Shams will launch its new talent support project, which aims to nurture and empower influencers, content creators and emerging storytellers by providing them with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in the world of influencer marketing. The project includes a series of training workshops and is one of Shams’ pioneering initiatives in developing the media sector.
The programme is specifically designed for individuals, providing them with a unique opportunity to grow and become professional in their field. Details of the project will be announced on the first day of the forum on the Shams platform. Shams will also present the podcast “Shams Talk”, an interactive podcast launched by Sharjah Media City (Shams) with the aim of enhancing communication in the media field. The podcast highlights the most prominent media and economic challenges, and includes interviews with experts and prominent figures.
