Sharjah 24: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah praised the team behind the Sharjah Quran channel during a phone call on the Direct Line programme.
The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority just inaugurated the channel. His Highness emphasised the importance of selecting appropriate recitations and following the pause guidelines to make the meanings of the verses clear.

While on the phone, His Highness also shared news of a plan to build a multi-story car park for Kalba's Hanging Gardens visitors, which will alleviate traffic at the city entrance.

His Highness said during the call, "The launch of the Sharjah Quran channel is a commendable initiative, and I watch the reciters closely. I have noticed that while pausing at the end of a verse is clear, some reciters pause because they run out of breath and cannot continue the verse. In such cases, the reciter should repeat the two words prior to word he paused on and resume reading to complete the verse, particularly if the verse's meaning is incomplete. Therefore, we urge those responsible for the channel to pay attention to such matters as exceptions and additions in the Arabic language, among other considerations, while reading the Quran.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah commented on the car park project for visitors to the Hanging Gardens, saying, "A couple of days ago, visitors' congestion halted access to Kalba via the Hanging Gardens. Therefore, we have arranged to establish a multi-storey car park. Fortunately, there is a large, low-lying area at the end of the Hanging Gardens where we can build three or four floors, accommodating around 300 to 400 parking spaces. We will install an elevator to facilitate access to and descent from the Hanging Gardens for those unable to use the stairs.
