Sharjah24: Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority will be commencing the experimental broadcast of the Holy Quran Channel from Sharjah on Friday, August 16, 2024. Operating under the slogan "Be with God and God will be with you," this will mark the country's inaugural Holy Quran TV channel.
The introduction of the Holy Quran Channel is part of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority's initiative to expand its media and educational outreach. The authority oversees 5 television stations (Sharjah TV, Sharjah Sports Channel, Al Sharqiya Channel from Kalba, Al Wusta Channel from Dhaid, and Sharjah Channel 2) and 4 radio stations (Sharjah Radio, Holy Quran Radio, Plus 95 Radio, and Watar Radio). Additionally, it operates the Maraya electronic application and the Sharjah Media Training Center.

The new media platform established by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority is dedicated to the continuous broadcasting of the Holy Quran. It features a daily “Khatmah” recitation by renowned reciters, providing audiences with the convenience of accessing Quranic recitations at any hour of the day. This initiative aims to offer audiences unparalleled access to the divine scripture, showcasing exceptional recitations and voices.

The channel will broadcast Friday prayers, Tarawih prayers, and Qiyam prayers live during Ramadan. It will also feature exclusive Quran recitations and a range of educational programs. These programs are specifically designed to enhance understanding of the Quranic sciences and jurisprudence, delivering simplified yet comprehensive content to a wide audience, making it easier for them to comprehend and absorb religious concepts.

Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of SBA, emphasized the significant support from His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, for the establishment of this channel, underscoring the importance of the project and its alignment with the promotion of the teachings of the Holy Quran. The initiative aims to provide a specialised media platform delivering purposeful and inspiring religious content. With the backing received, the channel seeks to set a benchmark in religious media, not only within the UAE but across the Islamic world, with the goal of making a positive impact on viewers and society at large.

Al Ghaithi commended the national media professionals and the Authority's advanced technical capabilities, which significantly facilitated the launch of this channel. It is expected to excel in broadcasting the most melodious Quran recitations, serving as a daily companion for audiences in the Emirates and the Islamic world. This will deepen their engagement with the Quran, encouraging contemplation and reflection on its meanings.

Khalifa Hassan Khalaf, Director of the Holy Quran Channel and Radio in Sharjah, anticipated that the new media platform developed by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority would serve as a significant resource in the UAE and the region. The platform was designed to offer specialised religious content, focusing on continuous recitation and Quranic sciences programs. Khalaf highlighted that the channel's team, comprising producers and technicians, consists of postgraduate Quranic studies graduates, hafiz of the Quran, and holders of licenses in the ten readings. This expert team is dedicated to delivering high-quality content that aligns with the viewers' expectations.

Khalifa Hassan Khalaf highlighted the focus of the Holy Quran Channel from Sharjah on showcasing the significance of Quranic institutions in Sharjah. This includes the memorisation circles associated with the Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah, as well as the Celebrity Reciters Program of the Holy Quran Complex in Sharjah. The channel will also feature the three museums of the complex: the Museum of the History of Writing the Holy Quran, the Museum of Rare Newspapers, and the Museum of the Seven and Ten Readings. Additionally, it will highlight the Sharjah Reciters Program, which aims to spotlight the imams of the emirate’s mosques.

Khalifa Hassan Khalaf stated that establishing a new channel under the slogan ‘Be with God and God will be with you’ will reinforce the message of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority and its leadership in the field of purposeful and solid media. He praised the continuous support of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for initiatives that serve the Book of God and make Sharjah a pioneer in purposeful media.

The channel will be available on the Nilesat satellite at a frequency of 11013 vertical, symbol rate 27500, and QPSK modulation with a 5/6 error correction rate. It can also be accessed via Etisalat Live on channel 579.
