Sharjah 24 – Reuters: Japan's wrestling dominance continued at the Paris Olympics, with Kotaro Kiyooka and Yuka Kagami securing two more freestyle golds on the final day. Japan ended with eight gold medals, three more than in Tokyo, outpacing rivals Iran, Bulgaria, and the U.S., who each won two.
Kiyooka, known for his lion-like hairstyle, triumphed 10-3 over Iran's Rahman Amouzadkhalili after defeating Tokyo gold medallist Takuto Otoguro to earn his spot. Kagami won the women’s 76kg gold by defeating the U.S.'s Kennedy Blades 3-1.

Bahrain’s Akhmed Tazhudinov won the men’s 97kg gold, defeating Georgia’s Givi Matcharashvili by pinfall.
