Sharjah24: Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who serves as the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, presided over the council's meeting on Tuesday morning at the Ruler's Office.
During the meeting, the council deliberated on various subjects pertaining to monitoring government performance and enhancing services to align with the substantial growth experienced by the Emirate of Sharjah across its diverse sectors.
The council approved the recommendations of the 2023 progress report by the Sharjah Government Medical Committee. The report focused on the committee's notable results, practices, and competencies. During its duties, the committee processed over 40,000 transactions from 91 local government entities through an online system.
The council greenlit a project to validate the accuracy of fuel meters at gas stations. The goal is to oversee economic establishments, ensure compliance with legal metrology, and guarantee that they meet the necessary conditions to provide precise measurements of fuel quantities in relation to the price paid by consumers.
The council has granted approval for replacing the insurance requirement for certain economic activities with a valid insurance policy. This policy will provide coverage for potential risks associated with these activities. The decision reflects the strong adherence of the relevant establishments to the terms and conditions of these activities and aims to support economic establishments by providing access to liquidity.
During the meeting, the Council examined the agenda item concerning the initiation of updates to government service procedures and the activities of different committees. These updates are intended to enhance service delivery to individuals and businesses within the municipalities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
