The meeting discussed a number of topics on its agenda regarding government work and development, and updating procedures to meet the aspirations of society to provide a decent life for citizens and residents of Sharjah.
The Council reviewed the report on the results of the work of the second strategic plan for the year 2021-2023, which addressed the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah to join the global network of age-friendly cities, the strategic map, the tasks accomplished, and the entities implementing the strategic activities. The council also reviewed the development of meeting the criteria for age-friendly cities in terms of standards, and transfer of global practices that reached 114 practices of local authorities and the expected outcomes.
The report reviewed the completion rate of the second strategic plan for the year 2021-2023, which amounted to 99%, as the Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities requires the launch of many initiatives and activities to support the standards of age-friendly cities and improve the services provided to the elderly. The number of activities and initiatives reached 46 activities presented by 27 local entities.
The Council reviewed the amendments of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) regarding a draft law on real estate leasing in the Emirate of Sharjah, and directed the Council to submit the draft to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in order to complete its legislative session.
