Sharjah24: Sharjah Sports Club has won the UAE Taekwondo Cup for teams for the seventh time in a row, thanks to the remarkable performances of its players, who topped all male categories during the competition held at the Sharjah Club sports hall in Al Khuzama.
The tournament winners were honored by Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, President of the UAE Taekwondo Federation; Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Club Board of Directors; and Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al-Hajri, a member of the Sharjah Sports Club board of directors and head of individual sports.
The Sharjah Taekwondo team earned the most significant championship title by taking first place in the men's, youth, and junior divisions. Meanwhile, the junior girls and ladies' divisions placed second in the women's contests.
The Taekwondo Federation Championship finals attracted a large number of clubs, with 13 clubs and centres from across the nation competing in the men's, youth, junior, junior girls, ladies, and women's divisions.
Al Midfa complimented the team on their remarkable performance, stating that the club's individual sports have continuously produced outstanding results in recent years, breaking records and nurturing talents that will have a big effect in the near future.
Engineer Al-Hajri was overjoyed with the club's Taekwondo results and congratulated the whole squad, including technical and administrative personnel, as well as players. He also lauded the Sharjah Sports Council for its substantial contribution to developing individual sports across the emirate's many clubs.
