Sharjah 24: Jassim Mohammed Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council’s Recommendations Committee, elaborated on the council's discussions regarding its recommendations concerning the Sharjah Fisheries Authority during its tenth session, as part of the first regular session of the eleventh legislative term.
Al Naqbi announced that the council put forward six recommendations concerning the Sharjah Fisheries Authority during its session on Thursday. These recommendations aim to bolster the authority's policies and directions in the upcoming period.
He told “Sharjah 24” that the recommendations encompassed several key points, including the preparation of legislation to regulate fishing practices in the emirate. They also called for the development of an organisational structure tailored to the needs and objectives of the Authority, the establishment of fishermen's villages at the emirate level to support fishermen's needs, the implementation of well-planned development projects, and the formulation of future plans for aquaculture to enhance food security and protect marine resources.
He concluded the recommendations by proposing the establishment of a main building for the Authority and encouraging both government and private sectors to invest in the fisheries sector, in collaboration and coordination with relevant authorities.
