The curator of the Sharjah Heritage Museum, Noura Al Mughni, stated that the event featured workshops, musical performances, and interactive activities designed to foster mutual understanding and cultural rapprochement between the two nations.
Speaking exclusively to "Sharjah 24," Al Mughni affirmed that the event aimed to showcase aspects of Emirati and Chinese heritage, including drawing, oral literature, and traditional attire. The goal was to foster a greater appreciation for shared heritage and strengthen cultural ties. Emphasising the role of heritage in advancing global peace and cultural tourism, the event underscored the Sharjah Museums Authority's dedication to safeguarding heritage and passing it on to future generations through international collaboration and awareness initiatives.
World Heritage Day, observed annually on April 18, originated from the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in 1982 and was officially recognised by UNESCO in 1983. The Day serves to raise awareness about the significance of safeguarding cultural heritage and monuments globally.
