Sharjah's May Radio Presents Engaging Programmes

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Radio continues to captivate its audience throughout the month of May with a variety of distinguished programmes. These programmes range from traditional ones that paint vivid pictures of our rich history, to literary ones that take us on journeys into the realms of imagination and beauty, as well as medical programmes that provide us with knowledge and health awareness. Not to overlook the dramatic works, whose role goes beyond mere entertainment, carrying powerful messages addressing various social aspects and reinforcing the Emirati values that extend across generations.
Financial Literacy Programme
The "Financial Literacy" programme aims to enhance financial culture among listeners, focusing on the importance of financial planning and setting financial goals as essential tools for effectively managing finances with professionalism. Presented by Dr. Abdullah Al-Awadi, an expert in finance and business management, the programme offers rich and specialised content covering modern financial management concepts and methods. It addresses topics of utmost importance such as retirement financial life, investment in Sharjah, student entrepreneurship, and achieving financial balance, along with other topics relevant to citizens and residents alike. These are emerging financial and economic issues that can sometimes be challenging to comprehend, hence this programme aims to eliminate ambiguity and guide towards sound financial behaviour. The programme airs every Thursday between 21:00 and 22:00.

My Country's Doctor
In the field of medicine, there are many renowned Emirati doctors known for their distinguished medical careers. The "My Country's Doctor" programme, hosted by Dr. Ali Al-Hamour, a specialist in gum and dental implantology, aims to introduce them through hosting them at Sharjah Radio studios. Here, they discuss their professional journey, experiences in the field, and their path in hospitals and clinics. The programme also highlights their achievements and experiences in this field with the aim of familiarising them and motivating young people interested in the medical field.

Starting with the Teacher

The "Starting with the Teacher" programme focuses on issues concerning teachers and the educational process in general. It discusses the efforts made in the country to develop the educational system and improve the efficiency of educational staff. The programme's topics range from reviewing successful experiences in education to discussing the challenges faced by teachers in achieving educational goals, including modern technology and innovation in teaching methods. The programme features a group of experts and specialists in the field of education, with the host, Salah Al-Hosni, engaging in insightful discussions with them, shedding light on the most pressing challenges. This programme is part of a series aimed at enhancing the role of the teacher, appreciating their efforts in building the future of generations and developing society. It airs every Sunday at 8:00 AM.

In My Bag, There's a Story

The "In My Bag, There's a Story" programme takes children into a world of enchanting and entertaining stories, narrated in an engaging and captivating style by Badria Al Marzouqi, known as "Mama Badria". She selects short stories carrying lessons, morals, and teachings of values and correct attitudes, presented in an intriguing manner that captures the attention of young listeners and enriches their imagination. Children enjoy listening to stories with diverse themes and characters that cater to various ages and interests. At the end of each episode, children are asked a question related to the story they listened to, and they provide their answers in the "Morning Line" segment of the programme, drawing wisdom and lessons from the story.

Kalila and Dimna Drama

The radio drama "Kalila and Dimna" captivates listeners on Sharjah Radio with its tales filled with wisdom and suspense, carefully selected from the famous tales of Kalila and Dimna, narrated by animals and presented in eloquent Arabic language that enriches listeners' ears and enhances the Arabic language skills. The drama is prepared by Arwa Badawi and presented by Jamal Al Samiti.

Future Media Journalists
These are segments showcasing a variety of scientific and cultural insights through the voices of the young members of the Sharjah Junior Press Club, as they are the energies of the future. Educating them and developing their skills are among the priorities of Sharjah's vision. These segments are prepared by a group of children.

Amal Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Director of Sharjah Radio, emphasised that the radio receives significant support from the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority due to its importance as a media tool that has succeeded in establishing itself in the local and regional media scene. It continuously seeks to enhance its position as a leading media outlet and interact with a wide audience. “When crafting any programme plan, meticulous attention is paid to the smallest details, taking into account the feedback and criticisms of the loyal audience, who are considered genuine partners through their significant interactions with our programmes. We receive many messages that encourage us to continue serving our loyal listeners, Al Owais said.
