Sharjah 24: On the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, stated: "On this day every year for over four and a half decades, our country celebrates one of its most treasured moments in history, the anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces on May 6th, 1976."

"It was a turning point in the history of our beloved country's growth, progress, unity, and unification, setting an example for national work across significant facilities and sectors throughout the country."

In his remarks on this occasion, he stated that the decision to combine the Armed Forces demonstrated the wise leadership's perceptive vision for the country's best interests, emphasising the necessity of unity in national development. 

It highlighted the importance of all people joining together to achieve unification, which has served as the cornerstone of our society's path. This unity, solidarity, dignity, and strength created a strong tie among the people of the nation, as seen by their eagerness to work together and sacrifice their lives for the cause of steadfastness and defence. 

This enabled the Armed Forces to expand and advance through assistance, care, rehabilitation, and training in a variety of sectors, motivated by both men's and women's genuine love for their motherland, with each working tirelessly and significantly in their respective positions.
