Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, emphasised the significance of May 6th, marking the 48th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces, as a pivotal moment in UAE history, solidifying the nation's unity and safeguarding its achievements.

In a speech marking the occasion, Sheikh Hamdan said, “The unification of our armed forces, spearheaded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and supported by his founding brothers, established them as the nation's protective shield, safeguarding its achievements under a unified banner, leadership, and flag. This decision bolstered the union, fortified its foundations, and propelled ongoing construction and comprehensive development efforts.”

He highlighted the unwavering support of President and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in ensuring the armed forces' excellence and commitment to their duties. Sheikh Hamdan also underscored the continuous advancements of the armed forces through the integration of cutting-edge defense technologies and the training of skilled military personnel, in alignment with the leadership's vision.

On this occasion, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed extended his congratulations to President and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and the personnel and officers of the Armed Forces, and the people of the UAE.
