Sharjah 24: Al Madam Cultural Sports Club concluded, Sunday, the sports and community activities of the Al Mudam Desert Games Tournament within its first edition, which was launched in March, under the generous sponsorship of Sharjah Sports Council and strategic partners, amid a competitive sports atmosphere and great public enthusiasm.

At the end of the events, the winners were honoured and prizes were distributed. 

The events, held in Al Badayer tourist area in Al Madam, were attended by Sultan Muhammad Maadhad bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club; Saeed Maadhad bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors; Salem Obaid Al Mayala, Director of the Municipality of Al Madam; and Engineer Hassan Ahmed Al Hammadi, representative of the Union for Water and Electricity, along with members of the Board of Directors of Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club, the public and a number of media representatives.

The activities included the Al Madam desert running race, which attracted more than 300 participants, of different age groups, from all members of society and all nationalities. The approved categories for the race are 1 km and 5 km. Four teams from Al Madam, Mleiha, Al Dhaid and Masfout clubs participated in the desert football, with five players in each team. For the volleyball tournament, four clubs participated, including Al Madam, Mleiha, Al Dhaid and Masfout, consisting of four teams and each team consisting of six players.

The accompanying activities and games included bow and arrow, basketball, recreational bicycles, and the participation of productive families.

This edition aims to inspire more individuals to adopt an active lifestyle and contribute to building a healthier and more active society. It also meets the modern hobbies of young people and satisfies their love of adventure and sports, especially since Al Mudam Desert provides an ideal environment for such type of sports.
