Sharjah 24: In a captivating Ramadan ambiance that appeals to both children and youth, the "Tales Under the Ghaf Tree" event, organised by the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, recently concluded at the “Rubu' Qarn Project for Theatre and Performing Arts” in City Centre Al Zahia, Sharjah.
This event, part of the foundation's cultural development programmes, aimed to underscore the significance of theater in promoting values, spreading awareness, and fostering artistic creativity.
With a focus on heritage, history, and the arts, the event attracted over 1,300 visitors, immersing them in various forms of theater and performing arts. Attendees enjoyed storytelling sessions, workshops, and interactive activities designed to enrich their knowledge and enhance communication across all age groups.
Throughout Ramadan, attendees experienced a blend of artistic beauty and storytelling magic, with sessions featuring popular and historical tales conveying messages of positivity. Workshops, such as "From Paper to Stage," enabled participants to develop their creative writing skills, while interactive sessions on making paper Ramadan lanterns and dolls added to the festive atmosphere.
The Rubu' Qarn Project for Theatre and Performing Arts’ group played a pivotal role in the event's success, organising workshops and presenting their experiences in theater and performing arts. Their engaging performances, including plays like "The Bird of Stories" and “Above the Earth, Below the Sky,” captivated the audience and showcased their artistic prowess.
Collaborating with heritage and arts organizations, including the Sharjah Institute for Heritage and the International School of Storytelling, added depth to the event. Daily competitions and discussions with parents underscored the positive impact of theater on children and youth, fostering skill development and constructive communication.
