Sharjah 24: Ramadan activities of the Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled in Sharjah, held under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council, from March 12 to April 2, 2024, concluded, on Tuesday.
The sports activities of the Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled varied between sports, cultural and community activities. The activities included football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and badminton. They also included competitions for memorising the Holy Quran, awareness lectures, a painting and handicrafts competition, as well as a group Iftar for club members and their families.
The closing ceremony and honouring of the winners was attended by Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled; Abdul Ghafour Ali Al Raisi, member of the Board of Directors of the Club; Ahmed Salem Al Mazloum, Executive Director of the Club, trainers and supervisors of the Ramadan programme, and parents.
Dr. Tariq bin Sultan bin Khadim praised the great success of this year’s Ramadan programme, He stressed that this year programmes saw more creativity thanprevious years in terms of the diversity of sports, cultural, artistic and creative activities.
Dr. Tariq bin Sultan bin Khadim added that the Ramadan activity included all age groups and disabilities, and activities were beneficial to them, which helps them make the best use of this holy month under educational supervision that helps them build an integrated personality capable of taking responsibility and integrating positively with society and trying to exploit the opportunity of this month.
