Sharjah 24: The Individual Games Department of the Sharjah Club, headed by Engineer Sulaiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, member of the club’s Board of Directors and Head of Individual Games, received the junior cycling team, which was crowned champion of the league for the third time in a row, at the department’s headquarters in Al Hazana.
The club’s team was crowned champions of the league in which 15 clubs participated.
The club was crowned champion at both the team and individual levels, as the team obtained a total of 200 points, 30 points behind the second-place finisher, and the club’s rider, Salman Mansouri, won the individual title with 212 points, and his colleague Saif Mohammed Thani finished third with 180 points.
The club excelled in the final league standings after 5 players entered the top ten list, obtaining the following positions: first, third, fifth, seventh, and ninth.
Al Hajri congratulated the team members from the administrative and technical staff for the great work they did, praising the performance and high spirit shown by the players during the league and their strong determination that culminated in their success in maintaining the title for the third year in a row.
He explained that the Board of Directors, led by Ali Salem Al Midfa, and the Individual Games Department continue to support all talented players to enhance the principle of sustainability of sporting achievements in the club and to prepare future generations to follow the same path and maintain the achieved successes.
He pointed out that the club’s crowning of the league for the third time reflects the correct technical build-up of the players since the cubs stage and their progression, highlighting that the management of individual games is keen to develop the levels of players to provide the country’s national teams with distinguished players in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
He thanked and appreciated the Sharjah Sports Council for its unlimited support for individual games and distinguished players through the Talented Care Programme, by developing plans and strategies in coordination with the club, which resulted in great achievements in various individual games.
For his part, the director of the cycling team, Salem Abdulrahman Bushalibi, thanked the individual games department for the continuous support that the game receives, congratulating the players and the technical staff who insisted on representing the club well and maintaining the third title in a row.
