Sharjah24: The 1st edition of the Dibba Al Hisn Cultural Sports Forum concluded successfully at the Heritage Village in Dibba Al Hisn city yesterday evening in the presence of His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council.
Several members of the Sharjah Sports Council, heads and directors of various governmental departments and entities in the city, and the president and board members of the Dibba Al Hisn Sports Club attended the closing ceremony.
The final ceremony kicked off with the UAE national anthem, which was then followed by a speech from Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of Dibba Al-Hisn Sports Club's Board of Directors.
Dr. Al Mutawa emphasised the important role of sports in both collective and individual growth, echoing the wise guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who stressed the value of sports as a way of communication, development of character, skill improvement, and moral upliftment.
He highlighted the significance of sportsmanship and honourable competition, echoing the valuable guidance from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who emphasised the wider advantages of sports beyond just competition.
Dr. Al Mutawa emphasised the sports institution's dedication to fostering an inspiring environment for society, in line with the nation's pursuit of innovation and endless opportunities. He offered his best wishes for success to all participants and encouraged them to attend the next forum in 2025.
The final activities featured an operetta, running and cycling races, skill shows by football players, martial arts exhibitions, contests, and prizes for participants, along with engaging health and fitness workshops. Furthermore, the beach volleyball championship concluded with the final match, accompanied by sporting exhibitions in basketball, shooting, table tennis, and traditional folk games.
In conclusion, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, and Mohammed Abdullah Rashid Al Tarban Al Humaidi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed their appreciation to the sponsoring companies and institutions of the forum, along with the winners of both sports and cultural activities.
