Sharjah24: The International Photography Festival (Xposure) organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, has turned the Emirate of Sharjah into a global capital of photography by presenting varied number of captivating photographs portrayed by skilled photographers from around the world.

The eighth edition of the International Photography Festival (Xposure) , organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, took place from 28th February to 5th March. It brought together, professionals and amateurs photographers from different countries of the world.

Xposure’s art exhibitions take visitors to a vibrant and creative world through highly professional and artistically tasteful photographs that captured the essence of beauty from the finest angles, using cutting-edge photography equipment.

The artworks of Xposure address global issues, document historical moments, present undeniable evidence, and demonstrate extraordinary power of images to surpass thousands of words and numerous expressions.

In its eighth edition, the festival reflects the experiences and perspectives of 400 photographers and 2,500 photographs from around the world. These photographers have overcome previous assumptions and contributed to changing long-held perceptions about humanitarian issues through image that carries the truth with utmost integrity. 

By organizing this significant global event, Sharjah reaffirms its appreciation for photographers who have brought truth back to the stage of history, charting the right path for future aspirations and making a difference between life and death. 

Photographs have borne the beauty, splendor, and richness of this universe onto the halls of Xposure, affirming their visitors that they are holding an issue of anyone who suffers from injustice in this world, striving to remove injustice from nations and restore to them all the positives that have been robbed from them, such as love and justice.

Photographers have risked their lives to present the reality of events, document moments of joy and pain, separation and displacement, and convey them to the world as a whole.

Sharjah pays tribute to the photographers whose lenses have documented overwhelming events, horrific conflicts, grave human tragedies, and natural disasters. Sharjah has illuminated the candles of hope in advocating for the deprived and the oppressed around the world by depicting their realities, making the image a primary element in achieving a world of peace, security, and happiness.

Sharjah has once again proven its success, through the consecutive editions of Xposure, as a global capital of photography and an international platform that brings together a selection of the world's most skilled photographers due to the significant role that photojournalism plays in supporting global issues and shedding light on important truths that should not be ignored or forgotten.
