Sharjah24 : On the fifth day of the 8th edition of the International Photography Festival (Xposure), Sharjah24 news website featured an exclusive interview with one of the well-known film directors in UAE, Nahla Al Fahad ,who narrated to the audience glimpses of her wealth experiences in the world of film production and delved the reality and challenges of empowering Emirati women in the film industry.
Nahla Al Fahad ,Film Director and Producer, who is considered as one of the leading Directors in commercials, entertainment, documentaries and music videos in the UAE and the Middle East, affirmed the ability of Emirati women to excel in the field of cinema, expressing her deep gratitude to the wise leadership for providing unlimited support for talented Emirati women who have proved day by day their limitless ability to take part in the world of film industry and demonstrated their niche in the this field. 

In statements to “Sharjah 24”, Al Fahad stated that the festival is a significant international event that supports the content industry, upholds professionals and amateurs working in this field, and provides optimal opportunities to meet with professionals, polish skills and expand experiences.

The Emirati Film Director and Producer sparked light on her pioneering experience as the first Emirati woman in the film direction world and the challenges she faced at the beginning of her career, starting from directing commercials and music videos, until she entered the field of cinema directing and working in drama.

Al Fahad sparked light on the importance of encouraging women to work in the cinema industry, underscoring the need for perseverance, hard work, patience, reading, and continuous learning about the cutting-edge techniques in the film industry in order to achieve goals, success, and excellence.

The well-known Emirati Film Director expressed her appreciation for Sharjah government in general and Sharjah Media City, “Shams” in particular, for supporting her especially in one of her most significant projects, the narrative film "218 Behind the Wall of Silence," which was produced by the city in 2021 and received several awards.
