Sharjah 24: Against the backdrop of the recent and ongoing events, the Xposure International Photography Festival (Xposure 2024), happening from February 28 - March 5 in Expo Centre Sharjah, has highlighted war and the devastation caused by it as one of the central themes of the 8th edition.
A grey epitaph with nearly 100 names of journalists and media workers who have tragically lost their lives while reporting Israel’s war on Gaza, greets visitors to Xposure in a grim reminder of the war in the neighbourhood. The epitaph reads: “In honour of the courageous journalists who offered their lives to show us the truth. Their legacy is a ceasefire call for peace.”
A clear message conveyed on Xposure’s global platform to thousands who are participating in and attending from across the world, about the senselessness of wars and the irreparable damage they cause, the epitaph is a solemn tribute to the indefatigable crusaders of truth who have lost everything in their pursuit of turing the international community’s attention towards millions of Palestinians besieged by a devastating war.
The tribute is a reflection of the humanitarian values that Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) and Xposure stand for, and reiterates Sharjah's commitment to facilitating dialogue on topics of regional and global importance.
