This time, the mountain region was the destination for the Gulf athletes, following the previous desert location. They practiced mountain hiking (hiking) on Al Rabi Trail on the East Coast of Khorfakkan, which is a unique type of sport requiring various physical skills. Their successful ascent to the mountain's highest peak at 395 meters allowed the Gulf athletes to enjoy stunning views of the mountainous nature overlooking the beaches of Khorfakkan.
On this occasion, Khulood Salim Aljneibi, President of the Organizing Committee for the Festival said: "Hiking is one of the sports that require many skills, and it was included in the schedule of events because it combines physical fitness with heritage knowledge stemming from social life. This is one of the most important elements we strive to instill in the hearts of athletes, both as a tribute to achieving the championship's slogan and out of belief in the importance of the athletes' role in shaping the concept of environmental sustainability with all its present achievements and distinctive local heritage."
During the festival, the Gulf athletes visited the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club and practiced golf and various other sports activities that included yoga, Golf, Archery. They expressed their admiration for the importance of this facility, its expansive green spaces, and its vast natural surroundings, which make practicing sports there a particularly special and unforgettable experience.
Moreover, festival guests and participants visited the Heritage area in the heart of Sharjah to attend the events of Sharjah Heritage Days, where participants were introduced to a variety of popular artistic paintings depicting aspects of heritage and cultures in every corner, reflecting the aesthetics of civilizational blend on the land of the United Arab Emirates specifically in Sharjah. This enhanced Sharjah's leadership emerging from its profound heritage and cultural influence, and its continuous and renewed contribution.
At the conclusion of the 15th Gulf Festival of Sports for All, the participants, after being honored, appreciated the warm hospitality and generosity extended by their Emirati counterparts in Sharjah. They expressed their pride and joy for the recognition of sports and athletes, as well as their admiration for Sharjah's natural facilities and its shining model of environmental friendliness.
