The department's representative, Fayza Khabbab, Director of the Family Forum Department, expressed gratitude for the recognition, which is a result of the long-standing collaboration between the department and the court. Their shared goal is to maintain family unity by implementing regulations related to children and the family in a civilized and humane manner that prioritizes the interests of all parties, especially Child Rights.
She further explained that the forum features family sessions led by social workers aimed at facilitating visits for children under foster care, ensuring their safe interaction with parents, and creating an appropriate environment that aligns with the court's visitation orders. The ultimate aim is to ensure a secure and culturally sensitive separation while preserving the psychology of children and their parents.
Khabbab also stated that the Family Forum works hand-in-hand with the Family Court to guarantee that children enjoy their right to education, health, and other necessities. In situations where parents are no longer together, the Family Forum assists them in creating plans that are in the best interest of their children. Additionally, the Family Forum provides recommendations to the court regarding who should take care of the child.
