Sharjah 24: The activities of the 21st edition of Sharjah Heritage Days, which runs from February 22 to March 3, at the heart of Sharjah, were launched under the theme “Connect”. Sharjah Heritage Days is one of the most prominent cultural events in Sharjah.
Abu Bakr Al Kindi, General Coordinator of Sharjah Heritage Days said that this year’s event will be held in five regions and cities of Sharjah, including the heart of Sharjah.
Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24”, Al Kindi confirmed that Jeju Province from South Kore is participating with 3 museums: the Diving Museum, the Handicrafts Museum, and the Museum of Daily Life, and these museums display Jeju’s cultural and historical heritage in an attractive and educational way.
Al Kindi added that the days include 7 participating exhibitions, including a special exhibition on elements of cultural and tangible heritage registered in UNESCO, and that the exhibition aims to highlight the global importance of cultural heritage and its protection.
The general coordinator of Sharjah Heritage Days explained that the events include a number of edutainment programmes directed at teenagers and children, with the aim of introducing them to cultural heritage and encouraging them to appreciate and preserve it.
This event comes to emphasise the importance of heritage in building bridges of communication between different cultures and generations, and contributes to enhancing awareness of the importance of cultural heritage as an integral part of national and human identity.
