The Municipality's Director General, Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, reaffirmed that the award, which has been going on for more than 20 years, enhances the community's responsibility to encourage gardening and the expansion of green areas in order to raise living standards and lessen negative effects on the environment.
Since the announcement, the municipality has received 59 applications to participate in the award, according to Al Tunaiji. They are now considering three types of gardens: those with a natural theme, those with a designed theme, and those with a creative or mixed theme, which incorporate elements from both types of gardens.
