This came during the speech of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed, which he delivered on Sunday, on the occasion of the opening of the seventeenth session of the Sharjah Children Shura Council (SCSC), and the eighth session of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council (SYSC), at the headquarters of the Sharjah Consultative Council.
During his speech, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi addressed the male and female members of the two councils, stressing their important role in effective participation through discussions and exchange of experiences.
The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, after which the 60 members of the Sharjah Children Shura Council and the 80 members of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council, held the event.
Madiya Saif Al Taniji, Chairperson of the Sharjah Children Shura Council, delivered a speech in which she expressed her thanks and gratitude to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for His Highness’s constant support for childhood and all the activities and events that promote it.
She addressed the importance of the Sharjah Children Shura Council as a unique democratic institution that reflects the spirit of participation and interaction of children in shaping their future, and expresses their sense of responsibility towards childhood issues and the significance of effective participation in this important and inspiring event for them, pointing to a number of statistics that highlighted the council’s great work over the past years in rehabilitating and training children.
For her part, Al Jazia Ahmed Al Zaabi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council, delivered a speech in which she addressed the celebration of a quarter of a century of the path of pioneering work led by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, and their unlimited support in building and caring for the councils for children and youth in Sharjah, which resulted in developing their abilities and motivate them for public work, and to contribute significantly to enhancing the role of youth in building society.
The event witnessed the presence of Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department, His Excellency Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Youth, Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary General of the Sharjah Consultative Council, and a number of senior officials in the departments and bodies of the Sharjah government.
