Sharjah24: The Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions, and Complaints Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council has shared its viewpoint on the 2024 law amendment proposal, which pertains to modifying Law No. 5 of 2014 concerning the reorganization of the Police Science Academy in Sharjah. This proposal had been referred to the committee by the Committee for Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs, and Public Facilities.
This was discussed in a meeting held by the committee yesterday at the Sharjah council's headquarters. Mohammed Ali Al Hammadi, the chairman of the Committee, presided over the meeting.
The committee scrutinised various clauses in the draft law regulating the academy's operations in terms of legal formulations within the respective domains. They deliberated on empowering the academy to achieve its objectives and incorporated several amendments. The discussions encompassed matters such as jurisdiction concerning applications to join the academy for obtaining a bachelor's degree in police science, along with regulations, training plans, and aspects related to the academy's activities across academic, administrative, and technical levels.
