Sharjah24: His Excellency Major General Saif Al-Zari Al-Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, observed the morning ceremonies observing Commemoration Day (Martyrs’ Day). This event aimed to honour the courageous martyrs of the United Arab Emirates, recognising their sacrifices for the nation. The gathering included the presence of His Excellency Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, directors, and several officers from the Sharjah Police Force.
The Martyrs' Day proceedings commenced with the flag-lowering ceremony at 8:00 AM at the headquarters. At 11:30 AM, Al-Shamsi and the attendees participated in a "minute of silence" to express condolences and remember the noble sacrifices of the martyrs. Subsequently, the national flag was raised, accompanied by the playing of the UAE national anthem.

General Al-Shamsi expressed, "Commemoration Day serves as a day for the UAE and its people to reflect on a narrative of bravery and pride etched into the country's history. It is a tale of heroes who dedicated themselves to their homeland and leadership. Their admirable sacrifices are acknowledged, serving as a guiding principle for upcoming generations, imparting values of loyalty, belonging, and a culture of national sacrifice through compelling stories of love, dedication, and redemption with their blood."
