Sharjah24: Following their outstanding performance at the Asian Rowing Championship in Qingdao, China, from November 9 to 12, 2023, the UAE national team and the Al Hamriya Modern Rowing Team were accorded a warm reception on Monday by the UAE Sailing & Rowing Federation and the Al Hamriya Cultural and Sports Club.
Representatives from the UAE Sailing & Rowing Federation, including Mr. Salem Ghanem Al Shamsi, the head of the Modern Rowing Committee, Mr. Khaled Al Owais, the head of the Technical Committee, and Mr. Issa bin Rakan, a board member of Al Hamriya Club, welcomed the national team players.
The accolades were directed at the UAE national team trio—Hamad Saeed Al Matroushi, Ahmed Khamees Al Hammadi, and Khamees Ghanem Al Shamsi, along with their coach, Captain Saeed Ali Wadhih. The athletes secured two gold medals, showcasing exceptional skill and proudly upholding the country's reputation at the championship.
Hamad Saeed Al Matroushi's outstanding performance in the individual category, coupled with the remarkable success of the duo Khamees Ghanem Al Shamsi and Ahmed Khamees Al Hammadi in the doubles category, underscored the team's prowess on the international stage.
