Nahyan bin Mubarak launches new website of Emirates News Agency

Sharjah24 – WAM: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, launched the new website of the Emirates News Agency (WAM) "www.wam.ae" on the sidelines of the second edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC) exhibition and conference, which kicked off yesterday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) and wraps up tomorrow.
Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director-General of Emirates News Agency (WAM), said, “WAM is committed to translating the UAE government's directives into tangible advancements in digital services, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to stay at the forefront of the Artificial Intelligence era.”

Al Rayssi added, “WAM is developing new digital news services to enhance the ability of the national media to keep pace with the leading reputation of the United Arab Emirates. The agency is moving forward in its development journey under the support and patronage of the UAE wise leadership, and always strives to enhance its media presence and impact on the regional and global levels.

WAM Embracing AI Latest Technologies
WAM, he added, has been "keen to keep pace with the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the noticeable development in the world of technologies. The agency is committed to offering the visitors to its website the best and latest tools and providing them with a unique experience that is based on a series of distinctive smart services.These services include:

-A text bulletin through the interactive search feature for news, reports, and investigative news using AI tools.

-A podcast for the latest and most recent news for WAM.

-A visual bulletin through the WAM robot presenter to provide a unique and intelligent experience with two daily news bulletins.

WAM's Commitment to Innovation
Abdullah Abdulkarim, Acting Executive Director of the News Content Sector, said, "WAM is always looking to employ technologies and innovate proactive pathways and solutions to provide a distinctive and integrated news experience."

He added, "WAM provides its news services in 19 different languages to reach all parts of the world and provide text, image, and visual news materials in addition to a variety of reports on the agency's official website and various media and digital platforms, in addition to its services through its official accounts in multiple languages on social media."

AI at Forefront of WAM's New Website
Ahmed Hassan Al Hammadi, Acting Executive Director of the Supporting Services Sector and Director of the Information Technology Department, said that AI is the most prominent and important feature in the new WAM website and its diverse services. He added that WAM is keen to be at the forefront of "smart websites" globally.

Al Hammadi pointed out that the new website is characterised by its modern infrastructure, using the highest international standards for the quality, programming, design of websites, and information security. He said that the goal is to continue to confirm the permanent impression of WAM's comprehensive and reliable services and to make it easier and faster to access information. The agency is also working to update and organise the website's content in global search engines.

Modern Design Reflects WAM's Institutional Identity
Al Hammadi added that the modern design of the new website reflects the distinctive institutional identity of WAM, with the consistency and harmony of the colours and icons of the website in accordance with the standards of the agency's visual identity.

He added that WAM has been keen to provide smart technologies and innovate proactive pathways and solutions to enhance journalistic and news work within the framework of its strategic plan, through the integration of the latest technologies in services, including AI, big data, and cloud computing. This is all part of improving the quality of digital life in accordance with the directives of the UAE wise leadership.
