Nahyan bin Mubarak highlights UAE's humanitarian commitment

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Endowment & Society Conference concluded in Abu Dhabi after two days of activities, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. Organised by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, the event took place at Erth Hotel.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak's address

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, addressed the conference, emphasising the alignment of the event's theme with the ‘Year of the Community’ initiative, aiming to foster collaboration between individuals and societal institutions for sustainable development. He also highlighted the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian giving and social solidarity, principles rooted in the vision of the nation’s leaders, including Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Shaikh Abdullah bin Bayyah on endowments

Shaikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman of the UAE Council for Fatwa, discussed the significance of endowments, describing them as a sustainable charitable tool that benefits future generations.

Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei's remarks

Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, reiterated that endowments are vital to society, meeting the needs of both Muslims and non-Muslims.

Endowment exhibition

The conference also featured an Endowment Exhibition, where Sheikh Nahyan and other dignitaries explored the history and development of endowments in the UAE.

Attendance and participants

The event was attended by a wide range of officials and scholars, including Dr Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and experts in endowment affairs from across the region.
