Sharjah24: During the 42nd Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) displayed designs for commemorative postal stamps, which were enthusiastically welcomed by visitors. The Exhibition was held from November 1 to November 12 at the Expo Sharjah Centre, with the theme ‘We Speak Books’. This initiative highlights the Authority's dedication to creating an innovative and progressive environment, encouraging students to unleash their limitless creativity.
The chosen designs were selected from over 200 submissions by students who took part in a postage stamp design competition at private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah. Organised by the Sharjah Private Education Authority in collaboration with Emirates Post Group and the Sharjah Book Authority, this competition allowed students to showcase their artistic and creative talents through stamp design.

His Excellency Ali Al Hosani, Director of the Sharjah Private Education Authority has voiced his satisfaction regarding the collaboration between SPEA, the Emirates Post Group, and the Sharjah Book Authority in arranging this prestigious competition. He continued, “This initiative holds significant value, as it serves as a source of motivation for educational institutions and students alike. It encourages students to exhibit their creative and innovative artistic abilities while concurrently refining their proficiencies in graphic design and the utilization of diverse design software.” He also emphasised that the winning postage stamps are exemplary in terms of creativity and artistry.

He went on to emphasise that the Sharjah Private Education Authority is committed to tapping into the opportunities presented by significant and high-profile events to nurture the abilities of students in private schools. This commitment is realised by arranging such tournaments, which serve as a central element in inspiring creativity and encouraging artistic expression among students. In addition, these efforts contribute to enhancing the cultural and artistic spirit in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Commenting on this, Abdulla Mohammed Alashram, Group CEO of Emirates Post Group   expressed his pride in partnering with the Sharjah Private Education Authority and the Sharjah Book Authority to coordinate this competition. He highlighted that the competition serves as a platform to exhibit students' talents and inspire them to express their creativity.

In turn, Iman Al Obaidly, Head of the Cultural Awards Department at the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) affirmed the Authority's commitment to involving various student groups in diverse events and providing them with opportunities to develop and enhance their creative skills. She added that the collaboration with the Sharjah Private Education Authority and Emirates Post Group serves as a model of vital partnerships that have successfully uncovered exceptional young creative talents, resulting in unique postage stamp designs and artworks.

She expressed their satisfaction with the inclusion of creative models and works in the Sharjah International Book Fair. They highlighted the fair's role in fostering innovation across diverse cultural domains on a global scale. The spokesperson also emphasised the Authority's commitment to supporting and promoting various initiatives and competitions that align with their vision of enriching the exchange of knowledge and culture. They also reaffirmed their commitment to integrating students of all ages and walks of life in the Emirate of Sharjah's ongoing cultural activities.

In addition, the Sharjah Private Education Authority has established a dedicated committee comprising of specialised experts to evaluate the entries and cast their votes using carefully crafted criteria specific for this competition. They carefully followed the necessary criteria to choose the winning designs from over 200 entries submitted by students.

The Sharjah Private Education Authority played an active role in various events at the Sharjah International Book Fair, showcasing its presence at this cultural event alongside government institutions, private entities, and well-known publishing houses.   Their goal was to inspire students to wholeheartedly embrace reading as a vital source of knowledge.
