Sharjah 24: Within the framework of the Sixth Sharjah Voluntary Work Exhibition, Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) honoured 20 governmental, private and private institutions and volunteer teams that participated in the exhibition from 01 to 02 November, at the Women Student Activity Section at the University of Sharjah (UOS).
Among the participating entities that were honoured Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, Sharjah Centre for Voluntary Work, Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Est., and others.
The event was attended by Professor Fatima Musa Al Belushi, Executive Director and member ofthe Board of Trustees of the Award; His Excellency Sultan Al Khayal, Secretary General of the Sharjah Charity House, and member of the Award’s Board of Trustees; Dr. Salama Al Rahoumi, Dean of Female Student Affairs at UOS; and a number of officials from different institutions participating in the exhibition.
On this occasion, His Excellency Sultan Muhammad Abdullah Al Khayal explained that such an exhibition embodies the building of society culturally and reveals the role of the Award in bringing together different institutions and teams on one platform to showcase their opportunities and initiatives. His Excellency Sultan Muhammad Abdullah Al Khayal added that such an exhibition attracts university students, who are the primary goal being the future generation and the main levers in the success of volunteer projects, in addition to the fact that many educational institutions have begun to motivate students to participate in volunteer work by adding hours to their academic projects.
Fatima Musa Al Belushi said that the exhibition saw the participation of 20 entities that displayed their work and volunteer opportunities targeting university students and all members of society concerned in this field, explaining that the exhibition recorded a large number of visitors of different nationalities, especially university students, in addition to a large number of university's academic and administrative staff.
Fatima Musa Al Belushi explained that the Award is keen to receive ideas, initiatives and suggestions that would develop and expand the scope of the exhibition, which reflects positively on the Award’s progress and goals, valuing the interaction of the participating parties with the exhibition’s activities.
