Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police General Command (SPGC) and the Sharjah Police Science Academy (SPSA) are participating with 190 different publications covering all aspects of police, legal and social work, at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), organised by the Sharjah Book Authority this year under the theme “We Speak Books.”
In this regard, Colonel Dr. Mohammed Butti Al Hajri, Acting Director of the Media and Public Relations Department, said that the interest of SPGC in participating in SIBF reflects its pioneering vision in enhancing communication between the police and members of society, whereas this fair is a cultural and knowledge platform that contributes to effectively expanding communication channels between the police and the public; enriching the public’s knowledge of security culture; highlighting the scientific and research efforts undertaken by the police; in addition to introducing the public to the services provided by Sharjah Police, to enhance community awareness in the security field.

Colonel Al Hajri explained that SPSA, the Police Research Centre, and the Department of Media and Public Relations participated with distinguished publications and books that included all aspects of police, legal, and social work. The Academy participated with 155 publications, including 30 new publications in police science, administration, and law, while the Police Research Centre participated with a new collection of books and police periodicals that are added to the Centre’s series of publications.

The Acting Director of the Department of Media and Public Relations added that SPGC and SPSA will hold many cultural and cognitive seminars and lectures during the fair, which are concerned with the security and societal aspects, such as recidivism, community service, quality of life, and applications of the results of police research in developing methods and means of reducing crime.
