Sharjah 24 – KUNA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan canceled on Wednesday his planned visit to Israeli occupation territories in light of the ongoing attacks on Gaza.
During the Justice and Development (AK) Party's parliamentary group meeting in Ankara, Erdogan stressed his country's disapproval of Israeli occupation forces in committing atrocities.

He said that Hamas is not a terrorist organisation but a liberation group waging a battle to protect its land, adding that half of those killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza so far are children, showing that the aim is deliberate brutality to commit crimes against humanity.

Erdogan added that he was saddened by UN's "inability" to agree on a resolution regarding Israel's bombardment of Gaza and to call for a humanitarian ceasefire there.

He called the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take actions regarding their promise to defend Palestine and urged an immediate cease-fire in the conflict.
