Sharjah 24: In preparation for the third session of the 2023 Sharjah Consultative Council (SSC) elections, the SCC conducted an informative workshop at its headquarters, with the participation of 63 executive employees.
The workshop aimed to equip these executives with information about the procedures for registering citizens as members in the nine electoral bodies designated for Sharjah. This was a crucial part of the preparations for the upcoming elections in the Emirate.
Key figures involved in the election preparations, such as Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, the committee's Chairman and the Secretary-General of SCC, attended the workshop. Members of the Elections Management Committee, the Elections Media Committee, and staff joined them.
Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan delivered an opening speech in which he commended the dedicated efforts and welcomed the workshop participants. He underscored the significance of this national event, emphasising that Sharjah would experience a dynamic electoral process. Al Jarwan encouraged the executive employees to give their utmost to ensure the success of this vital phase.
Following this, Sheikha bint Saqr Al Qasimi from the Elections Management provided an in-depth explanation of the essential requirements for registering members of the electoral bodies through the electronic system. She also touched upon the conditions necessary for registering voters in different cities and regions within Sharjah.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Youssef Al Ali, the legal advisor to the council, in collaboration with members of the Elections Management Committee, addressed the attendees' queries, which further elucidated details and potential challenges in the voter registration process, thereby securing the success of this significant national undertaking.
