Sharjag24: The second day of the eighth Emirates Women Writers Forum featured a session titled "Women and Literature: A Futuristic Vision," which examined various aspects of Emirati literature.
Dr Mariam Al-Hashemi emphasised the necessity of collaboration among UAE cultural bodies in order to develop and improve Emirati literature.
She talked about the difficulty of creating a novel while underscoring the importance of poetry in current literature.
Dr Al-Hashemi also stressed the need for authentic translations of Emirati literature for worldwide readers. She discussed how female authors might adapt to the times and write more extensively and profoundly than men.
A workshop was held at the event for young authors to showcase their creative works and receive comments from seasoned writers Najiba Al-Rifai and Aisha Abdullah.
Poets Sheikha Al-Mutairi, Najat Al-Dhahiri, Asmaa Al-Hamadi, and Fatima Al-Hirz delivered a wide variety of poems that resonated with the audience at a poetry event.
