Sharjah 24: The 12th edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) begins today, Wednesday, under the theme “Today’s Resources... Tomorrow’s Wealth,” and runs for two days at the Expo Centre Sharjah, in the presence of an elite group of local, regional and international opinion and thought leaders and experts in the government communication sector.
Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), under the theme ‘Today's Resources.. Tomorrow's Wealth', this year’s edition welcomes a formidable lineup of important decision makers, government officials, intellectuals, as well as development and communication experts from around the world, who will deliberate on the emerging developments and future opportunities in global resources and wealth, and look deeply into the sustainability challenges we face.

The two-day global event brings together the minds of the world in one place, to discuss the importance of exploiting and managing the resources and wealth that countries and societies possess, and how to transform them into factors of success and sustainable development, in a group of sessions, discussions, inspiring speeches, and a diverse of workshops supported by more than 35 local, regional, and international partners.

This year, the forum's guests put forward a new concept of future wealth, as they discuss how countries can invest their various natural, human, scientific and cultural resources, and transform them into wealth that supports development on the economic and social levels, in addition to prospecting new resources that may appear in the future as a result of the development of science and technology.

In its 12th edition, the forum will highlight the role of government communication in redefining existing and created wealth, within four tracks, including: natural resources, intangible resources such as human wealth, culture, arts and sports, the wealth of technology and data, and finally the wealth of the future, “beyond the wealth we know.”
