Sharjah24:The Department of Social Services' "Harvest" volunteer camp commenced at AL Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club (AHCSC) on Monday and will keep going through August 24.
On the first day of camp, many club members got involved in the many service projects.
'The camp comes under the directives of the club's chairman, Hamid Hassan Al Shamsi, as part of the club's sustainability committee plan to enhance the sustainability and empowerment of athletes in the voluntary and charitable fields,' Dr Sultan Faisal Al Shamsi, the Hamriyah Club's Quality and Excellence Advisor, said.
Furthermore, he said, "Encouraging work in the voluntary area, whether at the club or any other institution serving the community, corresponds with the aims of the Sharjah Sports Sustainability Council Award."
The Hamriyah Club's 'Harvest' camp will continue with a number of workshops, seminars, and other initiatives designed to inspire attendees to get involved in charitable and community service activities.
